Why printed images matter Back in the ’90s I remember walking back to our trade show booth behind two people from a neighbouring stand. They were into IT. As they approached our booth I heard one say to the other, “I feel sorry for these guys. How long can they last in the modern world?” It’s so long ago I feel like they must have been visionaries — how did they know To View More >>

Previous |  Contents | Next Download the eBook These are conversation starters, not a test. There’s more than one “right answer”. 1. Are there too many photographers? Do you think it’s different now to 10-20 years ago? If so, why? How does it impact your business, and can you do anything about it? 2. What is it that enables people to earn a living cooking, writing or taking pictures when almost everyone can do those things? What’s special about them? 3. How to talk about products? In a nutshell, in your own voice, with conviction! Let's start by saying there are three aspects to this: Talking about products. Sharing about products. Believing in products. Talking  about products We'll be brief because we've covered this in a separate article, about how to sell more without being  "pushy" or "sales-y". To us, an album is a purchase that matters. A personal treasure about a special moment in time. To enjoy, to share and to pass on. But in a changing world we understand that not everyone wants a grand album, and that for many of us our tastes and lifestyles have moved towards “smaller is better”. That’s why we’ve been focusing on how our product range can accommodate this trend ... and re-imagining our Portrait Album. We've taken the good parts of that range (streamlined workflow, simple unbundled offering, competitive pricing, fast delivery) and brought new ideas to the To View More >>

Albums are a blank canvas on which to express your personal style and taste, and we love seeing the variety that comes through the Bindery. This week's album caught our attention with its brightly coloured graffiti backgrounds and interesting design. When we asked Daniel if we could feature it, he shared with us the humorous, heartwarming story of how the couple first met – as told by them, from both sides. Talk about a meet-cute! It reminded us of something important — "It's not about the album, it's about the photography." … But dig deeper and it's To View More >>

Elisha and Abby are the photography and film duo at Woodlands Creative, and to put it simply, they love capturing love!  We saw this lovely album as it went through the Queensberry bindery, a 12x12 Panorama Flushmount album with silver halide printing and a cover of Bronze Metallic Faux Leather with Bank Gothic embossing. "Rather than just showing up on the day," Elisha and Abby say, "it's important to connect and build a trusting friendship with couples to be able to show how amazing their unique love story is!" Based on the Central Coast of NSW, they To View More >>
